April, 8th 2021

The first edition of the ATP Mallorca Championships will be held from 19 to 26 June on the grass courts of the Mallorca Lawn Tennis & Country Club.

After the surprise announcement this morning that Roland Garros has postponed one week the start of the second Grand Slam of the season, the organisation of the ATP Mallorca Championships wants to send a message of calm and optimism to all its fans by assuring them that the Mallorcan tournament will keep its original dates.

The organization of the ATP Mallorca Championships has spent a year preparing what will be its first edition and in the coming days will announce some of the biggest news that will take place in the event, including the number of attendees allowed by the authorities.

“After the hard decision to cancel the 2020 edition, we have been working very hard to bring a spectacular event to Mallorca in 2021 that fulfils all the sanitary measures dictated by the authorities, so we continue with our initial plan,” says Toni Nadal, director of the ATP Mallorca Championships.

“We want to send a message of reassurance and confidence to all fans, sponsors and other stakeholders that the tournament in Mallorca will be held on schedule and with the intention of showing the world that safe events are possible in these difficult times. Today’s announcement by Roland Garros does not affect us in any way,” says Edwin Weindorfer, CEO and founder of e|motion group, managing company of the ATP Mallorca Championships.
