Mallorca Championships presented by waterdrop® announce player field

The ATP250 Mallorca Championships presented by waterdrop® is set to kick off with its highly anticipated drawing ceremony on Saturday, June 22. Tennis enthusiasts worldwide are awaiting the event, which promises a great line-up of talent across the main draw, qualifications, and doubles categories.

The fourth edition of the tournament – the only ATP tour event in Spain played on grass – runs from June 22 to 29 in Santa Ponça (Calvià, Mallorca). Fans and players especially enjoy the atmosphere of the competition in its Mediterranean surroundings.

This year’s edition features notable players such as US talent Ben Shelton, title defender Christopher Eubanks, the charismatic Gaël Monfils, and local player Jaume Munar. Among the players in the main draw is Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, who recently defeated Novak Djokovic in Rome.

Austrian Dominic Thiem has been given a wild card to return to the Mallorca Championships presented by waterdrop®, where he will play one of his last matches on grass in what is his farewell year. Another wild card has been granted to the unpredictable Italian Fabio Fognini, who never leaves anyone indifferent. The tournament organization will announce the last wild card before the draw ceremony on Saturday. Additionally, there is a reserved position (Late Entry Spot) for another player, so fans can expect additional surprises during the next days.

Another Sponsor Committed to Sustainability

Another piece of news announced by Edwin Weindorfer, CEO of e|motion, the tournament organizing group, is the return of AGUA KMZERO as a sponsor for the second consecutive year. "The goal is to once again offer a sports event free of plastic bottles," explained Weindorfer, "a goal we will achieve with the great collaboration between AGUA KMZERO and our presenting partner waterdrop®."

During the tournament, attendees will have access to a network of SMART WATER DISPENSERS strategically located throughout the Mallorca Country Club. These dispensers will allow spectators to refill unlimited amounts of cold, natural water of the highest quality. "Additionally, thanks to AGUA KMZERO's software, we can obtain real-time data on our impact. Last year, we managed to avoid 102,000 plastic bottles, and this year, our goal is to reach 200,000!" said Weindorfer. "To be part of the Refill the Future movement represents our strong commitment to advancing towards a cleaner and more sustainable future for all."
