Qualy of the Mallorca Championships presented by waterdrop® kicks off

The Mallorca Championships presented by waterdrop® kicks off its fourth edition this Saturday, which will last until Saturday 29th June, with the qualifying that will determine the last four places in the singles main draw.

The Qualy of the only ATP250 tournament held in Spain on grass will take place at the Mallorca Country Club, where the first eight matches will be played, the highlight of which will be the one between the Mallorcan player Joan Nadal and the British player Paul Jubb.

The top seed from the qualifying round, Brazil's Thiago Monteiro, will face Japan's Rio Noguchi. Germany's Maximilian Marterer (2) meets Australia's Luke Saville.

The rest of the clashes are: Constantine Lestienne (3) against Michael Geerts, Adam Walton (4) v. David Jordá, Gijs Bower (5) v. Sebastián Fanselow, Abdullah Shelbayh (6) v. Ramkumar Ramanathan v. Daniel Mansur (8) v. Hernán Casanova.

Main draw ceremony

On Saturday, at 12:30 p.m., the main draw will be announced at the ceremony to be held at the Hilton Mallorca Galatzó hotel, with Jaume Munar as guest.

The Mallorcan tennis player is the local favourite in the Mallorca Championships presented by waterdrop® entry list led by the American Ben Shelton, No.15 in the ATP ranking, as well as the French players Ugo Humbert and Adrian Mannarino.

The Frenchman, finalist of the last edition, could meet again with the American Christopher Eubanks, who repeats his presence in Calvià to try to defend the title of 2023.

Among the most important players are the charismatic French player Gael Monfils, as well as the Austrian Dominic Thiem and the Italian Fabio Fognini, both of them after receive a wildcard.

Besides Munar, the list of Spanish players includes Roberto Bautista, Roberto Carballés and Pedro Martínez.
