Marterer, Lestienne, Walton and Jubb qualify for the Main Draw

The last four spots in the Mallorca Championships presented by waterdrop® main draw were claimed on Sunday by Maximilian Marterer, Constant Lestienne, Adam Walton and Paul Jubb.

The British player Jubb performed the upset of the day by eliminating the top seed (6/3, 6/4 to Thiago Monteiro) to now face the German Marterer in the main draw, who also got through the qualy (6/4, 3/6, 6/2 to Abdullah Shelbayh).

Frenchman Lestienne took the same (6/3, 6/3, 6/3 to Gijs Broker) and will now face Kazakhstan's Alexander Shevchenko.

While the Dutchman will be a lucky loser, due to the injury of Australian Jordan Thompson, who was due to open against Italian Fabio Fognini in the first round.

Finally, the Australian Walton also got through the qualifying round (double 6/3 to Daniel Masur) and will meet the Teutonic Yannick Hanfmann in the main draw.

 Start of the main draw

On Sunday the Mallorca Country Club's centre court will stage the first three matches of the main draw, starting at 1:00 p.m. with the duel between Portugal's Nuno Borges and Alex Michelsen of the United States.

Not before 3:30 p.m., the Spanish Roberto Bautista, will take to the grass against Japan's Taro Daniel. Meanwhile, the all-Spain duel between Roberto Carballés and Pablo Carreño will close the day's play from 6:00 p.m.

The doubles draw also starts not before 2:30 p.m., one of which involves the Mallorcan Jaume Munar, alongside Pedro Martínez, against the Austrian duo of Lucas Miedler and the 2020 US Open champion, Dominic Thiem.
