Top seeded players moves on at qualifiers

The official start of the qualifying round at the Mallorca Championships presented by waterdrop® on Saturday met the predictions of the eight seeded players who, on Sunday, will play each other for the last four places that give access to the main draw.

Mallorcan tennis player Joan Nadal was unable to advance to the next round and lost against seventh seed Paul Jubb in straight sets (6/1 and 6/2). The British player will now face the top seed, Brazilian Thiago Monteiro, who beat Japan's Rio Noguchi (7/6 [5] and 6/0).

Maximilian Marterer and Abdullah Shelbayh will also meet. The German, seeded second, beat Australian Luke Saville (7/5, 6/3), while the Jordanian had the longest match of the day, taking an hour and 48 minutes, to beat Indian Ramkumar Ramanathan (7/6 [2], 7/6 [4]).

The last two tickets to the finals will be disputed by Frenchman Constant Lestienne (7/6 [5], 6/1 v. Michael Geerts) against Dutchman Gijs Brouwer (6/3, 7/5 v. Sebastian Hanselow) and Australian Adam Walton (7/6 [3], 6/3 v. David Jorda) against German Daniel Masur (6/1, 6/3 v. Hernan Casanova).
